Frequently Asked Questions
Start by contacting us with your visa type, current location, and your preferred timeframe. We will confirm the scope, request basic details (passport bio page and current visa status if applicable), then share a tailored checklist and next steps.
Bring your passport bio page, current visa details (if you are in New Zealand), any previous INZ correspondence, and supporting documents relevant to your visa type (for example: job offer/employment documents, relationship evidence, study offer, and financial evidence). We will confirm a checklist before the meeting.
You must stay lawful at all times. If your visa is close to expiring, you should act early to apply for the correct next visa or variation (if applicable). If you apply for a new visa before your current visa expires, you may be eligible for an interim status while INZ processes your application, depending on the type of application lodged.
The Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) is a New Zealand work visa that allows you to work for an employer who is accredited by Immigration New Zealand. In most cases, the role must also be linked to an approved Job Check
A work visa can be a step toward residence for some people, but it does not automatically lead to residency. Whether you can apply depends on the residence category requirements at the time (for example, skill level, pay, qualifications, work experience, and other criteria)
Yes. We offer online consultations by appointment. This works well for clients outside New Zealand or those who prefer remote support.
Timelines depend on (1) how quickly you can provide documents, (2) the complexity of the application, and (3) Immigration New Zealand processing times. We can give a preparation timeline after we review your case and documents.
Not always. NZQA assessment is typically needed when the visa criteria require proof that your overseas qualification meets a New Zealand standard, or when a qualification is used to meet role requirements.
You generally need a valid Offer of Place from an approved education provider, evidence you can pay tuition and living costs, and acceptable medical and character documents where required. Most students also need approved medical and travel insurance for the full study period
Variation of Conditions (VOC) is a request to Immigration New Zealand to change the conditions on your current visa without applying for a completely new visa.
